VICTORIA JAPANESE FRIENDSHIP SOCIETY
Victoria Japanese Friendship Society is a non-profit organization founded in 1995. Our principle mandate is to support Japanese immigrants and long-term visitors in greater Victoria, as well as to build friendships with Canadians who are interested in Japan.
We celebrate seasonal events such as Mochi-tsuki/rice cake pounding on New Year’s Day, Autumn bazaar, Obon festival/paying respectful visit to graves and BBQ in August. We are engaged in club activities such as a kimono club and a kamishibai (picture-story show) club. A bi-monthly Sakura newsletter is sent out to all members.
If you want to make your life in the Victoria region more enjoyable and comfortable, come and join us!
